On May 30, the "ZIM THAILAND" ship of ZIM Shipping's (ZIM) East-US E-commerce Express ZXB route berthed at the Xiamen Port International Container Terminal, marking the official resumption of operations of the ZXB route.
PART.01 ZIM Xiamen-US East E-commerce Express Line officially restarts
It is understood that the ZXB route is currently one of the few high-quality express services in Fujian that directly reaches core ports on the east coast of the United States. The route provides direct weekly services from Xiamen to ports such as Charleston, Savannah, New York and Boston in the United States. It can reach major markets on the east coast of the United States without transit.According to information released by Xiamen Port, this route can arrive at the east coast port of the United States in about 27 days at the fastest after departing from Xiamen Port. It can shorten the transportation time by about 7 to 10 days compared with conventional routes in some markets, providing a more stable logistics option for cross-border e-commerce, high value-added manufacturing and time-sensitive goods.

Further Improving the Layout of Xiamen Port-US Line As an important international shipping hub on the southeast coast of China, Xiamen Port has continued to promote the construction of European and American ocean routes in recent years. After the ZXB route resumes operation, it will further improve the global route network layout of Xiamen Port and enhance the transportation capacity of goods from Fujian and surrounding areas directly to the US market. In addition to covering major ports on the east coast of the United States, this route can also rely on local railway and highway networks to extend to inland consumption and manufacturing centers in the United States such as Atlanta, Chicago, and Charlotte, forming an integrated logistics channel covering ports and inland markets.

PART.02 focuses on cross-border e-commerce and high value-added supply sources
According to reports, the ZXB route is operated by Zim Lines with nearly 10 LNG-powered ships, all of which use its own fleet to perform services. The route is mainly targeted at cross-border e-commerce, new energy auto parts, machinery and equipment, yachts, high-value consumer goods and other sources of goods, and also supports the transportation needs of cold chain goods, dangerous goods and special cabinets. In recent years, as China's cross-border e-commerce exports have continued to grow, the demand for high-timeliness and stable flights in the East American market has continued to increase. It is generally believed in the industry that express products have become one of the important directions for differentiated competition among current liner companies.
Xiamen Port continues to strengthen its international route network
Public data shows that in recent years, Xiamen Port has continued to optimize its international route layout and continuously improved its shipping service capabilities for countries along the “Belt and Road”, European and American markets, and RCEP member states.Up to now, Xiamen Port has formed an international route network covering major trade areas such as Europe, America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America. The resumption of operations of the ZXB route has further improved the logistics convenience for Fujian's foreign trade companies to connect to the US market. At the same time, Xiamen Port Unit continues to promote the reform of customs clearance facilitation, continuously improves the overall operational efficiency of the port by optimizing berthing, inspection and loading and unloading processes, and provides guarantee for the operation of ocean routes.
PART.03 Industry Observation
The U.S. route market is still in the demand recovery stage, and cross-border e-commerce, high-end manufacturing and new energy industries are becoming important sources of incremental goods. For export companies in Fujian and South China, the resumption of operations of the US-East Express will help improve the stability of logistics timeliness and enhance the company's supply chain responsiveness in overseas markets.
