The British Maritime Trade Organization (UKMTO) confirmed that a cargo ship was attacked by a UFO in the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, May 5, local time.
This is the latest wave of ship attacks by Iran following the launch of the U.S.-led Maritime Security Corridor
The ship attacked was the CMA CGM San Antonio, a container ship owned by CMA CGM. The ship was suspected to have been hit by a cruise missile, causing injuries to many crew members and damage to the hull.Click on the picture to enter the Weyun.com mini program to get the latest updates on the ship. The ship positioning and information query function on Weyun.com shows that the ship was built in 2005, flies the Maltese flag, and has a length of 222 meters.
CBS quoted U.S. officials as saying that the "San Antonio" was suspected to have been hit by a land-based cruise missile, injuring several crew members, some of whom were Filipinos. The injured have been evacuated and received medical treatment.
CMA CGM confirmed that the ship had shut down its Automatic Identification System (AIS) for safety reasons, lost signal since Tuesday, and was last located in the waters near Dubai.
The company said it was fully following up and providing support to the crew but declined to provide further details.
This is the second security incident that CMA CGM has encountered in this area this month. Another of its ships was hit by a warning shot last month, but no casualties were caused.

Hours after the San Antonio attack, U.S. President Trump announced that the "Project Freedom" escort operation, which had been launched for only 48 hours, would be temporarily suspended.
The operation aims to provide a safety "protective umbrella" for merchant ships trapped in the Arabian Gulf and guide them out through the strait on the Oman side.
Trump said in a statement: "At the request of Pakistan and many other countries, and in view of the 'significant progress' in reaching a comprehensive agreement with Iran, both parties agreed: the blockade of Iranian shipping will be fully maintained and the 'Freedom Plan' will be temporarily suspended to observe whether the agreement can be finalized."
At the Pentagon briefing earlier that day, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also announced in a high-profile manner that the U.S. military had built a "red, blue, and white protective dome" over the Strait, which was provided with 24-hour surveillance by destroyers, hundreds of fighter planes, helicopters, drones, and early warning aircraft. "It is a gift from the United States to the world."
Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Central Command, also said that this multi-layered defense system far exceeds traditional escort and has been "verified in the past few hours."
However, the action was stopped immediately before the words could be spoken.
Since the escalation of the conflict between the United States and Iran, shipping risks in the Strait of Hormuz have soared, hundreds of ships have been stranded, and about 20% of global oil trade has come to a standstill.
Iran frequently attacks passing merchant ships, while the United States on the one hand strengthens the blockade of Iranian ports and on the other hand launches an escort plan, creating a contradictory situation of "continuous blockade and suspended escort".
At present, no organization has claimed the attack on the "San Antonio", and the prospect of security in the strait remains unclear.
