according toPhilippinesLocal media reported that on the evening of February 22, a fire broke out in the South Port of Manila, and the fire was very serious. It is reported that the smoke is about 9:00 pm, floating from the place near Gate 3 of the Manila South Port Customs Building.

Later, just a few minutes after the fire at the General Port of Manila South Port Terminal, a fire broke out in the North Port of Manila, and the fire was getting bigger and bigger.

At 10 o'clock that evening, the local fire station upgraded the fire to level 5, and there were at least 30 fire engines and ambulances on site. Until 11 pm, it is still a level 5 fire alarm.

A spokesperson for the Philippine Customs said that they are currently unable to determine which buildings in Manila Harbour are affected by the fire. The spokesperson later told CNN reporters: "We may lose the entire building."

The port of Manila has been plagued by congestion and is already in an overloaded state, mainly due to the large number of empty containers stranded in the terminal. However, in the short term, the relevant departments did not find a suitable solution.

The fire will inevitably further reduce the customs clearance efficiency of the port, making the already abnormally congested port worse.

Recently, there are cargo owners who ship to Manila Port, please be sure to know the local information in advance to avoid losses.
