Los Angeles Container Shipment Drops 26.7% in March

According to data from the Los Angeles Port Authority, March 2018,Los Angeles HarborContainer throughput was 577,865 TEUs, an increase of 26.7% from the same period last year.
Among them, cargo containers arriving at Hong Kong fell by 29.2% to 264,460 TEUs; departing-to-cargo containers decreased by 14.6% year-on-year to 163,706 TEUs; and empty containers fell 33% to 149,699 TEUs.
In the first quarter of this year, the container throughput of Los Angeles Port achieved 2.1 million TEUs, down 5.7% year-on-year.
On the other hand, the main rival of Los Angeles Harbor -Long BeachThe container throughput of Hong Kong was 575,258 TEUs, an increase of 13.8% over the same period last year.
