Huge news has come from the global port and shipping industry - UniFeeder, a container liner company founded in 1977 and with a history of 48 years, will officially stop using its original brand name and be fully integrated into the unified brand system of its parent company, Dubai World Shipping Group (DP World), and start a new journey with a new identity of "DP World Shipping Solutions".
Starting from December 2025, UniFeeder, an old company that ranks 16th in the global container liner shipping capacity rankings, will completely withdraw from the historical stage of the shipping industry.
It is reported that multiple shipping brands under Dubai World Port Group (DP World), including the long-standing Unifeeder and P&O, will be gradually decommissioned.
DP World emphasized that the global market is undergoing profound changes, and customers are increasingly demanding "seamless, end-to-end" services. This brand integration aims to consolidate its market positioning, while at the business operation level, the existing model will remain unchanged.
According to its official disclosure, in the next 3-6 months, the original brand’s digital platform, ship numbers, customer contracts, physical logos, etc. will gradually be replaced by the new brand, but the leadership team, service network, infrastructure and customer cooperation terms will remain unchanged.
DP World was established in the 1970s and initially focused on port operations as its core business.
In 2006, the group acquired the operating business of P&O to expand its ferry operations and maritime logistics business. In 2018, it also acquired Unifeeder.
Founded in 1977 and originally headquartered in Denmark, Unifeeder currently operates 37 ships in the Nordic region with a total capacity of more than 37,000 TEU.
After the integration, Unifeeder will be renamed "DP World Shipping Solutions". The total number of ships in this business segment will reach 150, with a single ship capacity ranging from 350TEU to 8500TEU.
DP World said that each of its business segments plays a key role in global trade flows, covering areas such as feeder transportation, short-distance shipping, inland logistics and maritime services.
The integrated business segments will form a cross-continental "integrated multimodal transport network" to help customers achieve "efficient, sustainable and reliable" transportation of goods.
At the same time, it was emphasized that this transformation is a key step from "leading port operator" to "fully integrated global logistics service provider".
