Recently, Hong Kong Customs issued a communiqué, which found about 25 cases and seized about 67,000 suspected counterfeit goods, including watches, handbags, jerseys and shoes. The estimated market value is about HK$44 million, and five people involved were arrested.
It is reported that Hong Kong Customs, the Mainland and the Sea of Macau, took a two-week law enforcement action from July 18 to 31, strengthening inspections of goods re-exported from three places to countries and countries along the Americas, Europe, and the "Belt and Road" and cracking down on cross-border transfer of counterfeit goods.
Through intelligence analysis and in-depth investigation, 19 related cases were solved in a number of local express delivery companies and logistics companies during the Hong Kong Customs Operation.In addition, Hai intercepted a forty-foot container originally scheduled to be transferred and exported by Hong Kong at Tuen Mun Inland Water Pier, and found a batch of suspected fake goods in the container.

At the same time, customs personnel solved five cases at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Shenzhen Bay Port, seized a batch of suspected fake goods on five inbound trucks, and arrested five male truck drivers aged 53 to 69.The case is still under investigation and the five arrested persons are now on bail awaiting investigation.Macau Customs issued an announcement stating that in response to the joint law enforcement action, targeted deployments were made to combat infringing products and behaviors. During the operation, Macau Customs seized two infringements involving clothing, handbags and food, and seized a total of 393 suspected infringing products from three stores in Macau, with a value of approximately 2.419 million Australian dollars based on the price of the goods.The above two infringement cases are involved in a total of 4 people, namely Macau residents and mainland residents. The customs has transferred the case to the procuratorate for investigation.Hong Kong Customs will continue to maintain close cooperation with mainland customs, Macao customs and overseas law enforcement agencies, and through intelligence exchanges and joint law enforcement actions, severely crack down on cross-border transfer of counterfeit items.

According to the Product Description Ordinance, anyone who imports or exports fake items is illegal and may be fined up to RMB 500,000 and imprisonment for 5 years upon conviction.At present, the case is still under investigation.Here we remind that the cargo owners and freight forwarders must declare goods legally and in compliance with regulations and truthfully.
