According to the latest information from Sohang.com, the UK's largest container port, Felixstowe Port, is planning a general strike. At present, it is confirmed that the workers involved in the strike are port engineering workers. They are scheduled to strike on December 27-28 for two consecutive days.

It is understood that the reason for the strike was because the port outsourced the work of engineering workers to contractors.

Port leaders said the strike could lead to a wider range of port strikes, even scare away customers, and could lead to job and salary increases.

Recently, when you go abroad to the United Kingdom, you must pay attention to the foreign trade forwarders calling at the port of Felixstowe to prevent strikes leading to delays in goods!

'Think carefully' dockworkers warned as strike looms.

Clemence Cheng, chief executive of Port Felixstowe, warned workers in a rigorous letter to port workers to "think carefully" that brewing strikes at the port would create more trouble.

The head of the port issued a stern warning about workers' strike at Christmas.

A second letter from the port official to employees mentioned that the move could lead to a larger strike after Christmas and would cause serious damage to normal port operations.

"Any vote in favour of taking action will have more serious consequences for your business, your personal income and your work. In the past, we have seen other ports paralyzed by strikes and have not yet fully recovered. (Eg Chile) "

It is reported that on the issue of outsourcing, the port is scheduled to hold a vote from December 24th to January 14th. The vote is likely to extend the strike of 116 engineering workers to 1,800 members of the port.

But Mr. Zheng said he was "confused" at the time of the vote because seven of the eight affected staff members chose to redeploy at the port instead of working on General Tires under the same terms and conditions, and one of them Ming chose to retire, and he thought the matter was resolved.

At the same time, he fears that these actions are already hurting the port's commercial prospects.

"Since the media's high-profile publicity on this incident, we have had many customers make enquiries. There is no doubt that they have also arranged alternatives for their goods and terminated cooperation. Unity and unity are allowed, but please do not destroy what we build together .

Union District official Neil Evans said the unions remain open to negotiations and there is no need to provoke and intimidate employees, and we should find ways to prevent the first strike in the port in the next 30 years. He added that the unions were not going to strike easily unless the legitimate rights and interests of the vast majority of workers were damaged.
