Exactly two months after a serious cargo hold fire occurred at the Yusen Terminal in Los Angeles, the "ONE Henry Hudson" finally left the Port of Los Angeles on January 21 and set sail for Asia for repairs.
According to a customer notice issued by Ocean Network Shipping (ONE), the container unloading work of the damaged ship was completed on January 19, and all containers are currently stored in designated areas of the port.
Previously, ONE has officially announced that the container ship has entered general average status, and the cargo owner must pay the corresponding deposit before picking up the goods.
The company has appointed Richard Hogg Lindlay as the general average adjuster to be responsible for the general average adjustment work, and this agency is the only unit authorized to collect guarantee deposits and related documents.
ONE said in the notice: "In order to minimize delays in cargo delivery, affected cargo owners are strongly recommended to complete the guarantee procedures as soon as possible."
The "ONE Henry Hudson" flies the Japanese flag and arrived at the Port of Los Angeles on November 19, 2025. Previously, the ship called at the ports of Tokyo, Nagoya and Kobe in Japan via the trans-Pacific route. The fire broke out two days later on the evening of November 21, and nearly 200 personnel were invested in the initial fire-fighting operation.
The next day, the ship was towed to an anchorage outside the breakwater to completely control the fire. It was towed back to Yusen Terminal five days later and remained docked there until January 21 this year.
